I’ve stated on other posts that one of the first and earliest modifications I made to my 2008 Bonneville was the removal of the stock air injection system. Removing the system reportedly slightly increases the performance of the bike and avoids excessive bluing of the pipes.
I used a kit that is available from British Customs, although almost every other Hinckley Bonneville parts or aftermarket distributor sells a kit. They are all around $25.
I did not perform this modification myself as my bike was in the shop for some other reason, and so the dealer did it for me.
I have attached the BC Air Injection System removal instructions here for those of you who may be interested, or need access to this information.
Three years later, have you noticed any ill effects from removing the air injection system?
