Every year in October, Triumph Motorcycles America hosts and sponsors the Barber Vintage Festival at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Alabama. 2013 was my first experience, and it was so good, I went again this year on the 10th Anniversary of the event. One big difference is that this year I had purchased a GoPro Hero3+ video camera, and this trip was my first chance to try it out. I mounted it on top of my helmet.

I left my home near Chicago, Illinois around 5:45 AM on Friday, October 10, 2014, on my heavily-modified 2008 Triumph Bonneville Black.

About 12 hours and 690 miles later I arrived at my destination near Birmingham, Alabama. I was slowed down a few times by rain, construction, and for the last hour, a very heavy thunderstorm… which I rode through in the dark.
