After purchasing my 2008 Triumph Bonneville Black in April of 2008, there were a number of modifications I wanted to make to it. I do not like the stock tail lights and turn signals as to me they look to large for the scale of the bike.
Enter British Customs with their classic looking Lucas style tail light options. I purchased the “Lucas Style Tail Lamp” in the brushed finish, which includes a license plate bolt on plate.
This installation required some drilling work and wiring harness modifications without instructions. I did have to call BC to get info on how this light was to be grounded. However, with some persistence and perseverance, I am pleased with the outcome.
For added safety and rear visual attention, I have also installed:
- LED license plate frame in black: the lower red bezel on the frame works with the brake light.
- New Bonneville TailBlazer: Flashing Tail light modulator
Where did you get the LED license plate frame?
Kevin,
I purchased it from British Customs, but I see that they no longer carry it. Perhaps if you contact Sean Hicks at BC he will know a supplier.

Hi, I started installing this taillight…got mine from New Bonneville last weekend then gave up till I researched the install process.
I have instructions but wish I had pictures!
I can’t figure out how to make it sit flush and cover the stock holes cleanly!
Do you have more pictures you could post??
thanks!
Kevin,
I will see what I can do for more photos. I did have to work at getting a good flush mount. Can you take a photo of the pieces you have and send those to me?
