In my last post I shared about my experience purchasing some heated gear for riding in the cold Chicago winters. Here I’ve taken a series of photos showing how I have integrated the gear with my current riding clothes.
These are the heated Firstgear socks
Tehn I put my wool boot socks over them and hook up the wire connectors.
The wire connector I tuck inside my riding pants and leave the plug sticking above my waistband a couple inches.
I put on my jacket which has the wire cable also installed and running down each sleeve.
I hook the two end plugs into the Firstgear control unit.
Then I mount the control unit on my belt.
Next I velcro my jacket sleevs tight leaving a few inches of cabe exposed
I slip on the heated glove liner, velcro it shut, and then hook up the cable.
To finish up my hands I put the leather riding glove on over the liner, then repeat for the other hand.
Final step is to connect the control unit t the pigtail already wired up to the battery of by Bonneville.
This setup worked great for the winter of 2012-2013.
I hope this information helps you in making your own decisions about heated riding gear.
