Yamaha Dirt Bike Illustration

My current career and occupation is managing a digital strategy firm called STA Digital. When I started my career, I was a architectural and technical draftsman, who eventually became a technical illustrator for advertising, corporate communications, and other commercial uses.

In those early days, circa 1980-1987, all my work was done by hand using traditional media such as pen & ink, watercolor, color pencil on natural surfaces such as watercolor paper, illustration board, vellum and paper. Starting in 1987, I eventually learned to do all of this creative work on computers.

Here is a pen & ink illustration I did by hand in those early, pre-computer days of a Yamaha dirt bike. I have no idea what year or model it is, or even what the use or purpose of the illustration was for.
