This past weekend on Sunday was a perfect weather day for an extended motorcycle ride from Chicago. I decided to ride out to Galena, near the northwest corner of Illinois, not far from the Mississippi River.

I left Oak Park around 1 am, and returned home around 7 PM. I stopped for gas, lunch and a little sightseeing in Galena.

The stretch from Savanna to Galena is quite nice, as is the stretch from Galena to Freeport on Route 20. This makes a good day trip from Chicago.
